Relax, unwind, and reconnect with friends, family and nature

Please note:

Waterways is not a B&B. We rent out the whole house with its cottages. As it's such a large property to prepare and clean, we have a strict two-night minimum stay policy.

Waterways accommodates 14 people in 7 bedrooms. Most bedrooms feature two single beds that can be made up as a king. Two bedrooms have queen-size beds.

The rates shown are for 12 guests. An extra 2 people can be pre-arranged at an additional cost of R400 per person per night.

Renewable energy powers the whole complex except for the hot-water cylinders and the ovens. However, we have two BBQ's and a gas hob for cooking in case of load shedding.

Dave, the property manager, will be there to meet you on arrival and show you everything you need to know. Please call him in advance to arrange your arrival time.

A cleaning service is available at an additional R80 per hour.

Waterways is washed with the almost palpable positivity of childhood laughter, nostalgic summer holidays, and special family celebrations. Built in the 1950s by grandfather Mac, the property has a strong nautical charm and history. The bell on the balcony was used to sound out the start of yacht races when the house was the only other dwelling on the lagoon apart from the yacht club. The flag pole on the lawn was used to fly flags that signalled both laps and the end of the race – as well as the family crest. Until this day, Waterways has remained a precious jewel in the family crown.

There are several indoor and outdoor entertainment areas, the bedrooms are comfortable, and the showers are large and powerful. But if you’re into slick interiors and all latest modcons, then Waterways may not be the property for you. Although we’ve installed Wi-Fi for your convenience, we encourage you to pay more attention to your friends and family than your devices. And although there are three TVs for you to watch, none of them are as large as the window out onto the constantly changing backdrop of the lagoon that migrates from mirror-still to white-horse windswept in a matter of minutes.

Our philosophy is one of returning to an era when we were less concerned with the latest Facebook post and more interested in communicating face to face. Situated in thirty acres of natural Fynbos, Waterways the perfect place to reconnect with yourself, your family, and nature with no interruptions from the outside world. If, like us, you yearn to slow down the hands of time, then we’re convinced that you’ll love the property and its magical location just as much as we do.
